Silver Fern launches closed Beta of fernie™, the assistant inside Work Suite

Grower software company Silver Fern has begun the closed Beta of fernie™, the assistant built into its Work Suite platform for greenhouse and nursery operations. The first growers received access in July.

Growers ask fernie™ questions in plain English and it pulls the answer, finds the record, or takes them to the right screen. Growers can also hand it a customer's order list in whatever shape it arrived, a spreadsheet, a CSV, a PDF, an export from another system, and it creates the orders. It builds reports the same way. When asked to change something, it creates the proposed change, shows exactly what it will do, then does it as soon as it is approved by the grower.

"It does real work, but the grower stays in control. That's a differentiator because it's not just a chatbot showing off analytics. It's taking action and then you approve," said Adam van Wingerden, CEO of Silver Fern.
